The lakes above Harlech are excellent for
trout fishing and bass can often by fished off the local beaches. (For
information on licences please contact Harlech Post Office) For a day out why not enjoy a trip on a narrow gauge railway from Porthmadog to Blaeanau Ffestinog, or take the picturesque mainline railway down the coastal route between Pwllheli and Machynlleth. |

The Italiante Village of Portmeirion, where the 60s TV series The Prisoner was filmed, is nearby and well worth a visit, as are the Slate Caverns in Llanfair. Barmouth is worth a visit for it's quaint shops and blue flag beach. It also plays host to the three peaks race each June. |
